About this farm website template
A complete website for a small honey producer that sells direct and rents hives to farms: a honey shop with a page per product, a subscription club, a pollination service with a working hive calculator, the apiaries, a journal, an FAQ and a contact page. Twenty-one built pages, driven by content files.
It looks like a real honey house. Warm cream paper, real beekeeping and jar photography, oak, kraft and honeycomb textures behind the dark sections, and one heather-purple accent for buttons and highlights. Young Serif for headings, Figtree for everything else.
Every section answers something a buyer wants to know: which honey, where it came from, when it ships, what a subscription costs, and how many hives a grower needs. A comparison of a named-apiary jar against a supermarket blend makes the price argument on the page. Motion is one soft reveal.
The 21 pages you get
- Home
/ - Photo-collage hero, promises strip, the shop, the honey-house story, hive to jar, the hive calculator, honey club pricing, comparison, reviews, journal and FAQ.
- The shop
/honey/ - Every honey and gift box as a card with price, weight, apiary and stock badge.
- Product pages
/honey/…/ - Six products. Gallery, price, apiary and forage, tasting notes, stock and dispatch, delivery and related products.
- Honey club
/honey-club/ - Three subscription tiers with a monthly/yearly switch that works without JavaScript, plus membership questions.
- Pollination hire
/pollination/ - The B2B line. A calculator turns crop and acres into colonies, a season price, the flowering window and weeks on site, then books them.
- Apiaries
/apiaries/ - The six sites, their forage and what each one produces.
- About
/about/ - The two beekeepers, the honey house and how they work.
- Journal
/journal/ - Article index. Add an .mdx file and it appears here, on the home page and in the sitemap.
- Articles
/journal/…/ - Three written guides, for home cooks and for growers.
- FAQ
/faq/ - Grouped questions on honey, delivery, the club and pollination.
- Contact
/contact/ - Enquiry form that pre-fills crop and acres from the calculator, plus address and shop hours.
- Privacy and terms
/legal/…/ - Two starter legal pages on a shared layout.
- 404
/404 - Designed, with a way back to the shop.
What is in the build
- Products as content: price, weight, apiary, tasting notes, gallery and stock status in one Markdown file per product
- A pollination hive calculator for growers, with booking that carries the numbers into the contact form
- Honey club subscription pricing in three tiers with a monthly/yearly switch
- Add a Stripe Payment Link or Shopify Buy Button URL per product to sell directly; otherwise buttons send a pre-filled enquiry
- Real beekeeping photography and texture backgrounds, optimised to responsive AVIF and WebP by Astro
- All business details in one file, and one accent colour that rebrands the whole site
- Vitest and Playwright suites included
The design decision
Every template in this catalog is loud in exactly one channel and deliberately quiet in the other three. That single rule is what stops 65 different worlds reading as one design system in different paint.
- The world
- A working honey house: warm cream ground, real beekeeping and jar photography, oak, kraft and honeycomb textures behind the dark bands, and one heather-purple accent from the moor the bees forage on.
- The mechanic
- A shop and a B2B line in one site: product pages with stock and dispatch badges, three-tier honey club with a monthly/yearly switch, and a hive calculator that turns crop and acres into colonies and a season price. Motion is one quiet reveal.

Who it is for
Built for honey producers, beekeepers and small farm shops, and it adapts easily to any small food maker that sells a short range direct: preserves, cheese, cider, olive oil. The pollination page doubles as a template for a B2B service line beside a retail shop. For a large catalogue with a cart, start from the ecommerce build.

Questions
Can I take payment on the site?
Yes. Add a checkoutUrl to a product file with a Stripe Payment Link, Shopify Buy Button or Lemon Squeezy link and the button goes straight to checkout. Without one, it opens the contact form with that product pre-selected.
Can I change the hive calculator for my own service?
Yes. Crops, rates per colony and flowering windows live in one data file. Swap them for your own service and prices, and the calculator, its results and the booking link follow.
Can I use the photographs?
Yes. They are from Pexels, which allows commercial use, and each one is listed with its source in LICENSING.md. Swap in your own photography whenever it is ready.
What exactly do I get for $49?
Access to a private GitHub repository holding the complete Astro source of this template — every route you see in the preview, the content model, the images and the tests. Updates arrive in that same repository.
How many sites can I build with one licence?
As many as you like, for yourself or for clients. The licence is per buyer, not per project. The one thing you may not do is resell or redistribute the source as a template, theme or starter kit.
Do I need to know Astro?
It helps, but the common case is editing content and colour. Content lives in typed objects under src/data, colour lives in one @theme block, and npm run dev shows the result. Deploying is a static folder — Cloudflare Pages, Netlify and Vercel all take it as-is.
Is anything loaded from a third party?
No. Fonts are self-hosted woff2, there is no analytics, no tag manager, no CDN script and no external CSS. The build ships static HTML under a strict Content-Security-Policy.
