About this food producer website template
A complete website for a sea salt producer or any small food maker with a trade line: a shop with six product pages, a wholesale page with a quantity-break calculator, the story of the works, visits and pan walks, a recipe journal, an FAQ and a contact page. Twenty-one built pages, all driven by content files.
It looks like a working salt marsh. A pale brine-grey ground, real salt-pan and harvest photography, sea-water textures behind the dark sections, and one brine-teal accent. Gloock for headings, Work Sans for everything else, and a light footer to keep it airy.
Every section answers something a buyer or a chef wants to know: which salt for what, what is in it, when it ships, and what it costs by the kilo. The wholesale calculator shows the price per kg dropping at each break before anyone has to ask. Motion is one soft reveal.

What is in the build
- Products as content: grain, uses, sizes, prices and gallery in one Markdown file per salt
- A wholesale calculator with price breaks at 5, 10 and 25 kg, delivery by weight and a trade-account call to action, all rates in one data file
- CSS-only FAQ tabs and a no-JavaScript fallback price table
- Add a Stripe Payment Link or Shopify Buy Button URL per product to sell directly; otherwise buttons send a pre-filled order enquiry
- Real salt-pan photography and texture backgrounds, optimised to AVIF and WebP by Astro
- All business details in one file, and one accent colour that rebrands the whole site
- Vitest and Playwright suites included, with tests for the trade price breaks
The design decision
Every template in this catalog is loud in exactly one channel and deliberately quiet in the other three. That single rule is what stops 65 different worlds reading as one design system in different paint.
- The world
- A working salt marsh: pale brine-grey ground, real salt-pan and harvest photography, sea-water textures behind the dark bands, and one brine-teal accent.
- The mechanic
- A retail shop and a trade line in one site: product pages with a size picker, a wholesale calculator whose price per kg drops at 5, 10 and 25 kg with delivery and total, chef quotes and a tick-list against table salt. Motion is one quiet reveal.
- Loud channel

Who it is for
Built for salt makers, and a strong fit for any small food producer that sells retail and trade: coffee roasters, oil and vinegar makers, spice merchants, flour mills, smokehouses. It suits a short range with a story behind it and a wholesale price list. For a catalogue of hundreds of items with a cart, start from the ecommerce build.

Questions
Can I change the wholesale price breaks?
Yes. Products, prices per kg at each break and delivery rules live in one data file. Change them and the calculator, the price table and the tests follow.
Can I take payment on the site?
Yes. Add a checkoutUrl to a product file with a Stripe Payment Link, Shopify Buy Button or Lemon Squeezy link and the button goes straight to checkout. Without one, it opens the contact form with the salt and size pre-selected.
Can I use the photographs?
Yes. They are from Pexels, which allows commercial use, and each one is listed with its source in LICENSING.md. Product containers are plain, with no brand, so your own packaging shots drop in.
What exactly do I get for $49?
Access to a private GitHub repository holding the complete Astro source of this template — every route you see in the preview, the content model, the images and the tests. Updates arrive in that same repository.
How many sites can I build with one licence?
As many as you like, for yourself or for clients. The licence is per buyer, not per project. The one thing you may not do is resell or redistribute the source as a template, theme or starter kit.
Do I need to know Astro?
It helps, but the common case is editing content and colour. Content lives in typed objects under src/data, colour lives in one @theme block, and npm run dev shows the result. Deploying is a static folder — Cloudflare Pages, Netlify and Vercel all take it as-is.
Is anything loaded from a third party?
No. Fonts are self-hosted woff2, there is no analytics, no tag manager, no CDN script and no external CSS. The build ships static HTML under a strict Content-Security-Policy.
